Eligibility

Recently graduated high-school students who are currently enrolled in undergraduate programs and actively engaged in research.

Role Overview

Student Research Ambassadors serve as a bridge between school-level researchers and the undergraduate research ecosystem. This role focuses on research advocacy, outreach, and peer inspiration, while strictly maintaining AJYR’s standards of academic integrity and ethical conduct. Student Research Ambassadors do not function as mentors, reviewers, editors, or decision-makers.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Represent AJYR within school, undergraduate, and student research communities in a professional and ethical manner
  • Promote research literacy, academic honesty, and responsible research practices among students
  • Share awareness of AJYR’s opportunities, submission processes, and student programs (without influencing editorial decisions)
  • Support outreach initiatives such as student research events, webinars, panels, and discussions
  • Act as a near-peer role model, demonstrating how school-level research skills transition into undergraduate research
  • Communicate student-facing feedback and community insights to the AJYR team (non-editorial)
  • Uphold confidentiality and ethical standards when discussing AJYR processes or submissions

Responsibilities They Do Not Have

Student Research Ambassadors do not:

  • Mentor or supervise student research projects
  • Review, edit, or evaluate manuscripts
  • Influence publication outcomes or editorial decisions
  • Write, modify, or co-author student manuscripts
  • Represent themselves as academic authorities
